Altab Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and IDK Studios, Inc., a Texas corporation doing business as Altab ("Altab," "we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account, starting a lesson, or otherwise using Altab (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Altab. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use Altab only with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian. By using the Service you represent that you meet these requirements. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13 (see our Privacy Policy).

2. The Service

Altab is an educational product that helps engineers improve their technical decision-making through multiple-choice "judgment reps," a learning path, streaks, weekly leagues, and spaced review. Altab is an independent study aid and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any company, product, or service referenced in its content. Product, tool, and company names are used for identification and educational commentary only.

We may change, add, or remove features at any time. We aim to keep the Service available but do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free.

3. Accounts

You may begin using Altab without an account and later create one by signing in with a supported provider (for example, Google). You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your login secure. You agree to provide accurate information and to notify us of any unauthorized use. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Free tier, subscriptions, billing, and cancellation

  • Free tier. Altab offers a free tier with no payment required. It includes at least the first two lessons of every course, along with streaks, XP, and leagues. We may adjust what the free tier includes.
  • Premium subscription. Premium unlocks additional content. The price is the one shown to you at checkout before you pay, in US dollars, and it is the price we charge. We may offer different prices to different people or change prices over time; no price is promised by this document, and nothing is charged without the amount being displayed to you first.
  • No free trial. Premium is charged when you subscribe, at the price shown to you at checkout. There is no trial period and nothing converts automatically from free to paid.
  • Recurring billing and auto-renewal. Paid subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or annual) at the then-current price until you cancel. By subscribing you authorize us and our payment processor to charge your payment method on a recurring basis.
  • Cancellation. You may cancel at any time from your account settings or the customer portal. Cancellation stops future renewals; access continues until the end of the current paid period, after which you return to the free tier.
  • Refunds. You may request a full refund of a charge within 7 days of that charge by emailing the support address in these Terms; we will issue it in full. Outside that window, and except where required by law, payments are non-refundable and we do not provide refunds or credits for partial billing periods or unused time.
  • Payments. Payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing you also agree to Stripe's terms. We do not store full card details.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to: (a) use the Service for any unlawful purpose; (b) copy, scrape, resell, or redistribute the content except as allowed by these Terms; (c) reverse engineer, interfere with, or disrupt the Service; (d) access the Service through automated means except as expressly permitted; (e) share, resell, or transfer your account or subscription; or (f) attempt to gain unauthorized access to any system or data.

6. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, original artwork, explanations, question content, and the compilation of all of it, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for your own non-commercial learning. All product names and marks referenced belong to their respective owners; we claim no rights in them and, as stated above, are not affiliated with them.

7. User submissions

If you submit content (for example, a report that a question "looks wrong"), you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use it to operate and improve the Service. You are responsible for what you submit.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Altab is an educational aid; we do not guarantee any particular result, rank, or in-game outcome.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or $100. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the Service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (for example, intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability) survive.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify you (for example, in-app or by email) and, where required, ask you to accept the updated Terms. Your continued use after changes take effect means you accept them.

12. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. You and Altab agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Texas, and you consent to their personal jurisdiction.
